From capturing attention to boosting your organic performance on search engines, there are so many reasons to start taking advantage of video marketing on YouTube.
YouTube videos are a great way to teach people more about your brand. Not to mention they’re much more interesting and engaging than a normal written social media post, and can be used on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
However, shooting a quality video is an important part of keeping viewers engaged and interested in what you’re talking about. Here are a few tips to help you get it right.
5 tips for filming high-quality YouTube videos
#1: Dress to impress
Your videos are representing your brand. So even though you’re behind a computer screen, you still want your viewers to think of you as a professional in your field.
#2: Find a clean, preferably solid background
If you have a messy or busy background, your viewers will be so focused on your background that they forget to actually listen to what you’re saying.
A solid wall is a great place to film your video to keep it looking clean and professional. If you don’t have a solid background available make sure to clean up your surroundings.
#3: Get your lighting right
Make sure your lighting is bright and focused on the subject.
Try to avoid having your subject stand in front of any windows, as this will make them look like a silhouette. Instead, have your subject on the other side of the room facing the window.
#4: Keep your videos short and to the point
People are coming to your YouTube page to get a quick understanding of your product or service.
Keep your video short and to the point; otherwise, people may get bored and exit out before it is complete.
#5: Write a script
To help keep you from getting off track during your video, write a script.
There are lots of teleprompter apps that you can download straight to your phone. Simply add your script, hit play and start reading!
