What Does Online Search Volume Look Like for Your Industry in Q4?
Retail and e-commerce businesses are the most obvious to claim Q4 as their busy season (as a result of the holiday shopping).
However, according to Google Trends, which is the Google tool that displays the volume of online search by location and keyword(s), there are many industries that have growth opportunities in Q4, due to an increase in search for their products or services.

Some tips on using Google Trends:
If you target a specific geographic region, change the location dropdown to get trends for a specific state or city (data is available for only some larger cities, not all).
This link is set to show you data for 2015 – 2021. However, you may need to ignore 2020-2021 data points due to the disruption many industries saw, thanks to COVID. In many cases, 2015-2019 is the best time period to reference if looking for annual trends.
When typing in your keyword at the top, be sure to search for a “search term” (as opposed to a “topic,” “profession” or “occupation”).
You can add one or more keywords to compare to if you’re unsure which has the most volume, or you’re interested in seeing multiple keywords in comparison to one another.
If you sell nationally, you can also gain insights from the “Interest by subregion” section under the main graph.
Take notice if the overall search volume for specific keywords is increasing or decreasing.
