Case Study: Skydiving Firm Jumps Into Strong Marketing
What does a strong start to marketing campaign look like? Leave to a skydiving company to show us how to jump out the gate with this flyaway case study.
When we start a marketing campaign for a new business, we are sure to set realistic expectations. We start out with a six-month plan for a reason. Often, it takes that long to reach the initial apex where traffic and conversion results signal that we’re doing something right (so we know what to do more of).
But sometimes, a business blasts out the gate and never looks back. SkyDive the Gulf shows us how it’s done, at something like 32 feet per second per second…
Graphs Go Up
There is straightforward, visual way to depict what we’re talking about here.
Marketing 360® software has an overview report that graphs traffic, clicks, and conversions. When the graph goes up precipitously, it’s means things are off to a jump-start:
As they start to gather data, the period comparison report details this growth:
The campaign started in December of 2017. The first two-months of 2018, they had 105 conversions, which is a really strong number. In next two months, they got 235 conversions, an increase of 123.81%.
That’s a dramatic rise over a fairly short period.
How’d We Do It?
There are two main tactics that have we can associate with this conversion growth.
The first is gaining organic keyword ranking and traffic through our NLA® program. This business quickly gained ranking on high performing keywords in their area, which accounted for the majority (36.8%) of their conversions (another rising graph):
The other important element for this business is online reviews. One of the main things prospective customers want to know is what was the experience like for customers who took the leap?
Fortunately, people positively love their experience with these guys – and not the just the thrill of skydiving. The other amenities they offer make for a complete experience, and it get’s detailed in their reviews.
When they started, they zero reviews. But our reputation management team blew that up in short order (another graph going up):
Reviews make a big difference, and in the case the increase in ecstatic reviews on Facebook and Google helped convince people looking for a new adventure that this experience was for them.
Can you expect marketing results to happen this quickly for you? It depends.
This business does work in a niche that is relatively low competition, which certainly help in the goal of gaining market share. If you are in a more competitive industry, you have to be realistic about how long it will take to reach your apex.
However, Marketing 360® know how to execute the tactics that work. Within six months you’ll be on you’re way to success with your campaigns. If you aren’t, we’ll fire ourselves.
